Sites Travel Achieves Travelife Partner Status: A Milestone in Sustainable Tourism

At Sites Travel, sustainability has always been at the heart of our journey. Today, we are proud to announce a significant achievement: Sites Travel has been officially awarded the Travelife Partner status.

This recognition marks a major milestone in our mission to promote responsible tourism in Uganda and beyond. It reflects not only our internal practices but also the meaningful work we carry out with communities across the country

Our Commitment in Action: Four Community Initiatives

Sustainability, for us, goes beyond eco-friendly practices—it’s about empowering communities, preserving culture, and protecting our environment. Here’s how we’re making an impact:

✅ Supporting Kaguma Primary School

We’ve invested in classroom renovations and provided sports materials to Kaguma Primary School. By supporting education, we help create better learning environments for the next generation.

✅ Partnering with the Kisomi Women’s Group

Through our collaboration with the Kisomi Women’s Group—including teenage mothers—we empower women artisans to create meaningful souvenirs for travelers. Every purchase directly supports livelihoods and strengthens families.

✅ Green Investment Program

As part of our environmental stewardship, we’ve launched a tree planting program in Fort Portal, Busiika, and Mukono. This initiative helps restore ecosystems, fight climate change, and promote greener futures for local communities.

✅ Kira Residence Homestay

We offer travelers authentic cultural immersion through the Kira Residence Homestay, where guests experience daily Ugandan life. It’s a way to connect cultures, promote cross-cultural understanding, and ensure tourism benefits flow directly to local households.

Guided by Dedication and Expertise

This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our team and the guidance we received along the way. A special thanks goes to our amazing coach, Pamela Nabukeera, and our Sustainability Coordinator, Joel Kibirango, whose tireless efforts have been instrumental in achieving this recognition.

Becoming a Travelife Partner is just the beginning. Our next goal is to reach the highest level: Travelife Certified. With every step, we reaffirm our promise to create travel experiences that change lives, protect the planet, and celebrate Uganda’s rich culture.
