This is a group of ladies who make exceptional crafts out of indigenous materials like palm leaves and banana leaf stalks. They produce baskets, mats, dustbins, food containers, and other items. Madam Jemima Kanyunyuzi, who is also the managing director of Sites Travel Limited, provides moral and financial assistance to the Kisomi women. These crafts are handmade locally by these women, who also impart the same skills to their children.

These folks had been looking forward to our visit for a long time and were overjoyed when we arrived. They greeted us with large genuine smiles and interacted with us excitedly all day. Sites travel employees purchased crafts from the women to show their appreciation for their initiative and hard work. Furthermore, by supporting and purchasing locally created things made from local fibers can improve sustainability. 

Mr. Walugembe Enoch emphasized the value of charity in the community in his remarks. “We give not because we have a lot, but because we love people and we want to see them grow and develop financially,” said he. He went on to say “our coming here is not in any way attached to any political ambitions but just to give back to the community which nurtured us”. He told them that they would provide whatever assistance these ladies required within their reach and capacity, and he also encouraged them to foster a culture of fraternity and kindness between themselves.
