2023!
For Sites Travel Ltd., the year 2023 has started off excitingly! We are happy to share our accomplishments with you because this season has been quite exciting for us!
We made 15 years! And what a fascinating fifteen years they have been! We went from sharing a little office to getting our own offices at the upscale Kampala Serena Hotel! The majority of the lessons that have contributed to the success of this organization were learned during those times, according to our CEO Mrs. Walugembe Jemima, who refers to them as “the real school” in her treasured memories.
We, like all other tour firms hit by the epidemic, have had ups and downs, and we are relieved to be back on our feet. It hasn’t been easy, but as our fearless leader Jemima says, “Nevertheless, we move.”
We decided to launch the Save for Travel Wallet in order to bring travel closer to our clients. Knowing that a desire to travel and the ability to finance it can be diametrically opposed, Sites Travel set out to help that potential globetrotter realize their wildest ambitions.
We identify/create a package of their dreams and prepare and acquire payment for it for our clients. So far, we have a few clients who are quite thrilled about their impending holiday plans for which they are saving.
We have received major accolades, including Woman of the Year 2019 in Nation Media’s Top 100 Mid-sized Companies awards, where we placed 9th. We still made the Top 100 list of Nation Media’s Top 100 Mid-sized Companies in 2022.

We also got the privilege of attending the 2023 Dallas Tourism Adventure Expo.
It was quite fulfilling for us to meet like-minded individuals who were eager to showcase the finest that their respective countries had to offer. We were fortunate to form and cement connections and partnerships at this exhibition, and we want to work with our partners again in the future.
The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo of 2023 brought along more good partnerships. We were fortunate to meet the CEO of The Obvious Choice Zaritha Van Wyngaardt who is showcasing Uganda to Southern Africa.
Unfortunately, we also lost our longest serving tour guide and committed driver, Yiga Byron Ambrose, in April.
Byron had been with us since the beginning and was the first tour guide we had recruited
Byron enjoyed traveling and had a thorough understanding of all things Uganda. Byron had a huge impact in the training of tour guides in Uganda, and all of our guides were fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered with gratitude.
Overall, it’s been an interesting start to 2023, and we’re looking forward to what the rest of the year has in store. As the demand for our services grows, our staff continues to grow. We are excited to make this year count after losing a lot of revenue due to the pandemic.
